Fire emergency lighting installation

In the event of a fire, a professionally installed emergency lights system could save lives. Our emergency lighting installers will ensure that your installation is correct and compliant, for optimal safe operation.

Complying with your legal obligations

It’s a standard requirement under The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) 2005 that all workplaces must have emergency lighting in case the normal lighting system fails. This requirement also applies to any building to which the public has access (including multi-storey dwellings). You must also keep your fire emergency lighting system maintained with regular testing.

Emergency lighting testing and maintenance from the experts at Amthal

Building owners or occupiers must carry out monthly and annual checks to ensure that the emergency lighting system is working correctly. Non-compliance comes with a range of risks and unlimited fines. Our team of highly qualified technicians will take care of the whole process, scheduling weekly or monthly light flick tests at a time to suit you, to help ensure the system’s integrity.

Monthly emergency lighting testing

Monthly emergency lighting tests are commonly known as flick tests. Our team will check that the LED light is on, use the test point and ensure that the light works. We’ll keep a record of all monthly tests, including any faults which will be reported to the Responsible Person in your organisation.

If you prefer, we can arrange to carry out flick tests on your premises on a weekly basis.

Annual emergency lighting testing

You are legally required to have a 3-hour emergency lighting test once a year. These annual tests must be done in addition to monthly tests –you shouldn’t choose one over the other.

Our qualified and experienced technicians will switch off your primary light circuit and will leave your emergency lights for three hours, in line with BS5266-1:2016. If any defects are found, we will take swift action to report and resolve them as soon as possible.
