Earlier smoke detection for unrivalled protection

Early fire detection is vital, and every second saved can be critical. Aspirating smoke detector systems work differently from standard smoke detectors and can raise the alert much earlier. As an approved installer, and as part of our complete fire protection services, the experts at Amthal will install, test and maintain these advanced smoke detection systems to guarantee safety and compliance on your premises.

What is an Aspirating Smoke Detector?

An aspirating smoke detector (ASD) is a highly advanced fire detection system providing a superior early warning system. They can detect smoke before it becomes visible to the naked eye, often even faster than point or beam detectors.

An aspirating smoke detector works by actively drawing air into the system through a network of pipes that are constantly filtering it. This allows them to detect smoke and other by-products of combustion.

Smoke alarm monitoring services from Amthal

As an optional part of our complete fire protection package, we offer a first-class 24-hour fire alarm monitoring service. If your smoke detection system is triggered out of hours, the emergency services will be notified immediately, ensuring swift and safe action even when your building is unoccupied.

We’ll talk to you to ensure that we fully understand your business requirements, including any special circumstances such as lone worker status or panic alarms in retail or banking environments.

Is an aspirating smoke detector right for my organisation?

Aspirating smoke detection systems are suitable for most industries. They are particularly useful for environments where highly sensitive rapid smoke detection is required, such as buildings with critical data or very high ceilings.

One of the other advantages of ASD systems is that their sampling points are often very discrete, and the necessary pipe networks can be easily hidden. So, this is useful if the aesthetics of a property need to be maintained.

Aspirating smoke detection can also be used in dusty or dirty environments. You just need to ensure the correct design, installation and maintenance processes are followed.
