Our vision reflects our commitment to investing in our people. We believe it is key to building a sustainable and successful future.
As part of this pledge, we are proud to announce we have joined The 5% Club, an industry-led initiative focused on creating ‘earn and learn’ opportunities for young people.
What is The 5% Club?
The 5% Club is a movement of over 1,000 employers across various sectors—including engineering, transport, and financial services—dedicated to fostering a skilled workforce through apprenticeships, graduate programs, T-Level placements, and sponsored student schemes.
Whilst Amthal already exceeds the target of 5% of its total workforce being on a formal development program, we will continue to create more opportunities for the future benefit of our industry and community as a whole.
Membership in The 5% Club not only reinforces our commitment to our team members but also aligns with our broader mission to contribute positively to society.
Why Did Amthal Join The 5% Club?
For Amthal, joining The 5% Club is more than just a promise; it’s a strategic decision to invest in the future.
With a well-recognised skills shortage across the industry, we recognise the importance of equipping the next generation with the hands-on experiences they need to thrive. Through our participation, we will provide valuable career opportunities and pathways for young people to encourage career growth in the fire safety and security sector.
Our existing programs already focus on developing young talent and providing meaningful career opportunities.
From apprenticeships to graduate schemes, Amthal has always been dedicated to creating an environment where young professionals can learn, grow, and succeed.
Many of our Apprentices remain with the company and achieve key management positions. Most recently, we introduced Reece Paprotny as Group Managing Director, after starting with the company as a Finance Apprentice.
What Does This Mean for the Future?
By committing to The 5% Club’s goal, Amthal is setting a clear target for the number of young people we support through apprenticeships and other development programs. This is not only an investment in our company’s future but also an investment in the future of the communities we serve.
Gill Cronin, Director of Operations of The 5% Club, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Amthal into membership. The 5% Club provides a fantastic network of HR and L&D professionals, sharing and learning from each other. All our members share an ethos of creating a skilled workforce through ‘earn and learn’ development programmes, helping people develop meaningful career paths.”
Jamie Allam, CEO Amthal Group Companies, added: “We know the value of investing in young talent not just as a benefit to our company, but as a vital contribution to the industry and the communities we serve. Joining The 5% Club is an important step in reaffirming our commitment to nurturing future leaders in the fire safety and security sector.”
